The Latest Applicable Farm Machinery Testing Fee Across Every FMTTI & FMTC (FY 2025-26)
Most farm machinery testing fee questions get answered with a single-machine number pulled from a single centre's notice. The Ministry's own Mechanization & Technology Division has published something more useful: a category-wise schedule, applicable at every FMTTI and FMTC in the country, covering everything from hand tools to self-propelled transplanters. It's worth reading in full, because a few of its categories map directly onto the machines most small-farm OEMs actually build.
The Office Memorandum
Dated 31 January 2025 and issued under F.No. 13-14/2020-M&T(I&P)(C-82979), this Office Memorandum from the Ministry's Mechanization & Technology Division sets out the testing charges currently applicable for agricultural machinery and equipment tested at FMTTIs and FMTCs, effective 1 April 2025 for FY 2025-26. It was distributed to the Directors of all four FMTTIs (Budni, Hisar, Anantapur/Garladinne, and Biswanath Chariali), to every FMTC's Principal Investigator/In-charge, and to the Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (AMMA) — making it the closest thing to a national baseline for this fee.

Power tiller, self-propelled reaper, and power weeder testing: one bracket
The Ministry doesn't price these three machine types separately here — they share a single fee bracket, alongside power-operated threshers and similar equipment. That's a materially different number from what a single centre may quote for a detailed, test-by-test breakdown built specifically around one machine's mandatory test list.
Battery sprayer testing and power-operated sprayer testing fees
This is the category most fee schedules skip entirely, and it's priced here as two distinct brackets:
The gap between the two is not small — a power-operated sprayer or mist blower costs roughly two-and-a-half times as much to test as a manual or battery-operated unit, which tracks with the more extensive engine-performance and mechanical-reliability checks a powered unit requires.
What "exclusive of GST" means here
As with SRFMTTI's own notice, every fee in this schedule is exclusive of GST — where GST applies, it's charged separately, at whatever rate and classification the specific testing centre applies.
