Your agri and food sourcing agent in India.
We find, audit and manage Indian suppliers for overseas importers, food brands and distributors: from the first supplier brief to the inspection before your container ships. Fixed fee, no supplier commission.
Buying agri and food products from India is easy to start and hard to get right. Marketplaces list thousands of “manufacturers”, many of them traders; the same product can arrive at a different moisture, colour or residue level from one shipment to the next; and the paperwork that clears your port is not the paperwork most small suppliers keep.
AgPro works on the buyer’s side. Our team has spent 28+ years inside the Indian agri value chain, in input companies, processors and machinery makers, so we know which plants actually run the lines they claim, what a fair price looks like at farm gate and at factory gate, and where quality slips between the sample and the shipment.
Six steps, one accountable agent.
1. Supplier brief
Your specification turned into a brief Indian plants can quote against: grade, variety, size, moisture, residue limits, packing, certifications, volumes and incoterms.
2. Shortlist
5–8 suppliers that make the product themselves, with capacity, export history, certifications and indicative price for each.
3. Factory audit
Site visit covering production capacity, quality systems (HACCP, ISO, BRCGS as applicable), raw-material sourcing, labour and environmental basics, and references from current export buyers.
4. Samples and price
Samples collected and couriered to you or your lab, compared side by side. We negotiate price, payment terms and contract clauses with you or on your behalf.
5. Export paperwork
We check the supplier's IEC, FSSAI, APEDA / Spices Board registration, phytosanitary and origin documents, and the labelling your market requires.
6. Pre-shipment check
Inspection at loading: quantity, packing, visible quality and sampling against the contract, with a photo report before you release payment.

Clear answers before the call.
- A sourcing agent finds and checks Indian suppliers on your behalf, so you buy from a factory you have verified rather than from a listing. For agri and food buyers that means: turning your specification into a supplier brief, shortlisting manufacturers, auditing the plants, managing samples, negotiating price and terms, checking export paperwork and inspecting goods before they ship.
- We charge you a fixed engagement fee agreed before work starts. We take no commission or margin from suppliers, so our advice is not tied to which factory you choose or how much you buy.
- A qualified shortlist of 5–8 suppliers against your specification typically lands within 3–4 weeks. It comes from our working network plus structured discovery, not from trade directories or online marketplaces. Factory audit reports follow within 10 working days of each site visit.
- Spices and herbs; rice, pulses and millets; potato products such as frozen French fries, potato flakes and dehydrated potato; dehydrated onion and garlic; fruit pulps and frozen fruit and vegetables; edible nuts and seeds; agri inputs such as agrochemical technicals and formulations; and farm machinery, implements and spare parts. If your product is grown, processed or built for agriculture in India, ask us.
- At a minimum an Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) from DGFT and an FSSAI licence. Depending on the product: an APEDA or Spices Board registration-cum-membership certificate, a phytosanitary certificate from India's plant quarantine authority for plant products, an Export Inspection Council certificate where your market requires one, and a certificate of origin. Your own market adds its rules (for example, EU maximum residue limits or US FDA facility registration). We check each item before you sign.
- Yes. We run pre-shipment checks at the factory or warehouse against your specification: quantity, packing and labelling, visible quality, sampling for a lab you nominate, and document review. You get a written report with photographs before you release payment.
