Agri consulting for inputs — seeds & agrochemicals.

Crop protection, seeds, nutrition, biopesticides, and biologicals in India — CIBRC-sequenced, FCO-aware, corridor-ready.

The sector today.

India is the world’s fourth-largest producer and second-largest exporter of agrochemicals, moving over USD 3.3 billion of crop-protection products to 150+ countries in FY25 alone. The domestic market, depending on scope and methodology, sits in the USD 9 billion range in 2025 and is among the fastest-growing globally. Inside that headline, the shape of the market is shifting: biopesticides are compounding at close to 10% CAGR and expected to cross USD 380 million by 2030; nano-fertilisers are scaling off a small base at roughly 15% CAGR; and generic synthetic molecules face margin compression as Chinese-origin technical prices normalise.

The Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee (CIBRC) is the single gate. Synthetic pesticide registration officially runs 12–24 months, biopesticides 6–12, and the 90-day query window after initial submission is where most timelines break. Parallel regulatory stacks apply: the Fertiliser Control Order (FCO) for nutrition products, the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights (PPV&FR) Authority for seed and hybrid filings, and BIS for packaging and formulation-component marking. Every credible engagement plans these tracks together.

Channel and policy are the other two compounding forces. PKVY (Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana) subsidises organic-cluster formation; MOVCDNER focuses on the North-East; and a constant refresh of trade schemes, GST treatments, and subsidy flows shape dealer incentives and retailer economics in real time. The operator challenge is translating a month of policy shifts into a channel rhythm that still compounds share quarter over quarter.

Challenges we solve

Six patterns on every agri-inputs brief.

CIBRC dossier + trial orchestration
Pre-audited technical dossier, GLP trial placement across agro-climatic zones, and 90-day query response rails that hold the clock.
Biopesticide commercialisation
Moving from registration to a live commercial channel where retailer incentives, farmer education, and trade schemes are still being built.
Generic-molecule margin compression
Re-architecting product mix, pricing corridors, and value-added positioning against imported technical price pressure.
Seed and hybrid PPV&FR filings
Variety registration, breeder-rights protection, and commercial launch sequenced to maximise the protected window.
Nano-fertilisers and nutrition innovation
Category-building where regulation, price elasticity, and farmer trust are still converging. Channel and claim design both matter.
Export corridors and DGFT
Outbound trade playbooks into Latin America, SE Asia, Africa, and GCC — buyer development through on-ground relationships, not trade directories.

Frequently asked

Clear answers before the call.

For synthetic pesticides, 12–24 months is the official window; in our practice, dossier quality is the single biggest variable — clean submissions close in 14–18 months, weak dossiers drag past 30. Biopesticides run 6–12 months by regulation. We work dossier preparation, trial design, and 90-day query responses as a single sequenced engagement.
